Adjustable pallet racking installation for new Bedford depot
Following an extensive site survey by project salesman, Damian Chudleigh-Smith, it was agreed that an adjustable pallet racking system with varying beam levels would be the best solution for the storage of our client's goods. Time was also of the essence for this project, as Welch's Transport needed the facility to be fully operational in order to fulfil upcoming client contracts. "The cherry on top was that [SEC] gave us an installation date of only 6-weeks after order," adds, Chris. "Beating the competition by a good 4-weeks."
Once the materials were delivered, our installation team began their work on-site, completing the installation over the course of a couple of weeks. "The installation team were professional, cleaned up after themselves and had the job done within the agreed timeframes", comments, Chris. The works also included the installation of warehouse barriers throughout, in order to protect the racking from potential forklift truck collisions.
Overall, the fit-out of this newly converted facility has provided Welch's Transport with a new base of operations following their relocation, which will help them to continue offering their wide range of transport solutions across key pockets of the UK. "All in all, an excellent service, and SEC will be the first company I call when we rack out our next warehouse," concludes, Chris.
As this is Phase One of a two-phase fit-out, the design of this installation has enabled Welch's Transport to move in and achieve their capacity needs without needing to change their forklift trucks. As capacity increases, they will infill the spare space in the depot with new racking, reducing the aisles with a view to employing articulated forklifts on their trucks at a later stage.
