Stubbins Food Partnerships needed a space saving solution that could also withstand lower ambient temperatures, and so called upon SEC Storage to provide a solution to the problem. It was recommended that the installation of a drive-in racking system, particularly effective for cold-store environments would make the most efficient use of a limited space.

Drive-in racking by nature allows for the maximisation of cubic space via the elimination of aisles and lanes. Fork lift trucks can of course still access the area, but it works solely on a first in, last out principle (FILO).

Due to the elimination of lanes and aisles this can then allow for a higher density of product storage; specifically what Stubbins Food Partnerships needed to maximise operations and spacial allowance at the facility.

SEC also looked to install pallet guides to the ground floor levels to prevent damage from fork lift trucks moving in and out of the area. A preventative safety measure that can extend the longevity of the racking structures and also stop damage to goods stored in the adjacent bays.

The installation also made allowances for the incorporation of the existing walkway behind the racking structure, allowing full access to the office spaces behind and also to the back of the drive-in racking for emergency access.
