KBA (UK) Ltd, part of the Koenig & Bauer Group, is one of the leading innovators in the printing industry, having been responsible for developing many of the key advances in printing technology ever since its founders designed & built the first power-driven press for the Times of London in 1814.

KBA (UK) Ltd, called upon SEC Interiors expertise to design and refurbish two, ground floor office spaces at the company’s Watford based, head offices. After the initial site set-up, SEC began by laying maze effect carpet tiles throughout the main office, meeting room and corridor areas, finished with the appropriate transitioning strips.

 

Stud and board partitions were then installed throughout the offices to form a compartment wall, and to also create a number of private office spaces. A sound quilt was installed above the line of the partitions in the ceiling void to the CEO's office and the meeting room areas for additional sound privacy.

kitchen tea-point was installed into an enclosed space in the connecting corridor between the two offices. The finish included worktops, laminate splash-back details, and the reconnection of electrical and plumbing services to the overall unit. SEC also installed all electrical and lighting systems, including compact LED fittings with a dimmable control to the meeting / boardroom area, and recessed lights to the hot desk spaces, fitted with PIR motion sensors for energy saving benefits.

 

A number of air conditioning units were also installed, including a mixture of cassette and wall-mounted units across the office. The resulting works have helped to create a sophisticated, multi-purpose environment, suitable for both permanent, office based employees, and for those who visit the office more intermittently, with the option to utilise the newly available hot desking facilities.
