Phase 1: Fit-out and refurbishment of multiple educational facilities
SEC Interiors is pleased to announce that in 2017 we were awarded a contract - in partnership with VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd - to carry out a wide range of commercial interior fit-out works for a prestigious educational institute based in Cambridgeshire.
SEC Interiors were awarded the project after winning a highly competitive tender, with Phase 1 of the project starting just before Christmas 2017. The Phase 1 works included the design and construction of a new base build (shell and core) in one of the campus’s existing buildings, which lead to the creation and fit-out of a number of cellularised offices built for administrative purposes.
These newly created offices were finished with a comprehensive and complex integration of electrical solutions, including HVAC systems. Within the same building SEC Interiors also created a new lecture room space, complete with a combination of fixed position and spin seating, lighting and audio visual equipment to finish.
The 2nd site SEC Interiors worked on during Phase 1 was an existing, 1950s style building located on the same campus which underwent heavy demolition and reinstatement works. Both the 1st and 3rd floors of the building were refurbished, with the 1st floor now functioning as a student co-working space. The 3rd floor was fitted to house an optometry lab.
The final part of Phase 1 focused on the fit-out of the Science Building, which included the installation of partitioning systems, suspended ceilings, acoustic panels and more.
