CHAS Health & Safety Accreditation Awarded for 8th Year


The SEC Group has once again been awarded the prestigious CHAS accreditation for the 8th consecutive, demonstrating its commitment to health and safety across its business and project sites.


In order re-tain the accreditation, the SEC Group went through a rigorous assessment of its health and safety procedures and documentation, providing evidence of safe practice and compliance across its projects sites and head office. The accreditation will expire on 10th September 2020.


The accreditation also comes after the SEC Group took the decision to employ Dr Victor Onyebuchi, the Group Health & Safety Manager. Victor joins with a wealth of experience in health, safety and environmental management as well as MIIRSM, TechIOSH and AIEMA accreditation, in addition to a Masters and PhD from Cranfield University.


"We are committed to continuous improvement of all aspects of our Health, Safety and Wellbeing of our colleagues, supply chain and customers" commented Victor.


"As part of our health and safety as well as accreditation compliance we will conduct a regular programme of proactive audit, inspections and assessments to assess risk, identify and eliminate unsafe conditions or practices and to control and reduce any hazards found in the working environment.


"This is all part of our aim to provide a safe working environment for all SEC Group employees, contractors, visitors and any others who may be affected by our activities" says Victor.

CHAS was created by experienced health and safety professionals in 1997 to improve health and safety standards across the UK.​ CHAS is a founding member of the SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) competence forum, giving prospective buyers of services the confidence in the contractor they are choosing.
