CAT A office fit-out and relocation project in Hemel Hempstead
Acrelec UK had recently acquired a new commercial premises in Hemel Hempstead and called upon SEC Interiors expertise to deliver an effective, office fit-out solution that would turn this dilapidated, empty unit into a fully working office environment with modern amenities.
After the initial space planning and design process had been completed, SEC Interiors completed the landlord's dilapidation specification, in order to prepare the office shell for Acrelec UK's office fit-out, including the installation of a new, raised access floor.
This medium duty, steel encased raised access floor was then installed and bonded upon steel, adjustable pedestals, forming the basis of the new office area.
The next step saw the installation of numerous stud and board partitions throughout the office space, with the longer corridor area seeing the construction of a compartment wall, in turn, forming a number of new independent meeting rooms.
A white-faced, steel grid exposed ceiling was also installed above the office space, with a one-hour, fire rated cavity barrier included above it for additional safety requirements.
The warehouse area was also partitioned, allowing for the conversion of a nearby space to accommodate a breakout area. The tea-point was finished with two-tone units, blackstone worktop surfaces and fully integrated appliances. Vinyl flooring was then laid in the breakout space, and contract grade carpet tiles in the main office.
In the Staging Area, the existing concrete soffit was left exposed, creating a modern - industrialised effect, with general lighting installation throughout to create a clear, fresh and inviting space for their new HQ.
