Project Summary
Refurbishment of the existing offices, including kitchen tea-point and staff WCs in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire...

Approach
SEC Interiors were invited by 1st Line Defence to propose plans for the refurbishment of their existing office facility, based in Maple Park, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. The first stage of the project focused on the installation of a compartment wall feature, comprising of stud and board partitions in order to create a number of new office spaces.
In order to divide two of these newly created offices SEC installed an operable wall with a laminate finish. This feature allows for the size of the room to be customised - depending on staff requirements. Oak veneer doors were also installed throughout the hallway with vision panels where appropriate.
HVAC systems were supplied and installed to the primary office spaces along with a small suspended ceiling installation which included lighting, electrical and data installation works where specified. Carpet tiles were installed throughout the main office area and throughout the connecting hallway, whilst vinyl flooring was supplied and installed to the refurbished kitchen tea-point.

SEC also made allowances to fully refurbish all of the existing staff WCs, including the mens, womens and disabled toilets. This included the installation of concealed cisterns with a warm, laminate wood finish, vanity units and toilet cubicles. Urinals with concealed pipework and modesty panels were also installed in the mens WC, along with various support mechanisms which were built into the disabled WC.
In the staff kitchen area the existing flooring was taken up to be replaced with new wood effect vinyl flooring. A large tea-point was then installed complete with blackstone worktops, matching splashbacks, white units and integrated appliances.
As part of the SEC Group’s storage division, we also made allowances for the supply and installation of a small run of longspan shelving with chipboard timber decking, and a steel mesh partitioned cage for the small warehouse area.
The resulting works have provided 1st Line Defence with a sharp and stylish office environment, and this newly refreshed space will no doubt serve the team moving forward for many years to come.
